The Challenges:

With 16 locations, MacGregor Dental was the largest group practice in the Houston market at the time Get Quality Patients came onboard. Their goal was to take the company public and they needed to establish a strong growth trend to strengthen the confidence of major investors and the underwriters who were trying to take the company public. But they suffered from a poor public image at the time and frankly were not considered the best place for families to receive quality dental care. They had also suffered from inconsistent revenues and patient counts in the most recent months, despite several ad agency changes. Even worse, their biggest local competitor, Castle Dental, was outspending them on marketing by over 300%. This dwarfed MacGregor's marketing impact and they seemed destined to slip even further away from their ultimate goal.






Our Solutions:

Our strategically focused marketing experts at Get Quality Patients began the process of image and revenue recovery with a comprehensive market analysis to evaluate the Demographic and Psychographic of every individual location to identify unique marketing opportunities for each clinic. We also created a badly needed new identity program that reflected a fresh new leadership position in the market place. We then revamped their media planning and purchase programs, which tripled their media exposure without ANY increase in expenditure. Simultaneously, we developed a highly targeted direct mail campaign that focused on existing patients as well as new movers in the close proximity of specific clinics. From there we started a tight tracking system to evaluate the effectiveness of each marketing program and adjusted the expenditure per clinic based on unique exposure needs.

The Results:

Our client was very pleased when they experienced an immediate patient base growth that continued during the course of the entire campaign. This broke the irregular patient count patterns that existed in the last few years and revenue moved up by 40.7% in a short 6-month span. The turnaround was so dramatic and impressive that the underwriters took the company public before their competitor, Castle Dental, who was in a race to be the first group practice in the country to go public.
